Gap

I took Rex for a hike at the Scott’s Gap section of Jefferson Memorial Forest yesterday. Hiking with Rex is great, because he doesn’t pull on the leash and he’s very patient with me stopping to take photos. I could probably let him off the leash, as I did once with Indie, but Rex came into the shelter as a stray and I don’t know if he was abandoned or if he maybe took off chasing something and got lost, so he stays on leash when we’re out.

It’s funny, he likes to hike, but even more than that, he likes to come home. He’s got two wonderful adoption prospects, one in Connecticut and one in Massachusetts, both Bay Path College adult students who heard about Rex through my friend Anne James’ posting on a bulletin board there. He will be sad to leave me, but once he settles in to his new home, he will be such a happy guy.
